The last few weeks have been so busy in Nursery as we learned the songs for our Christmas celebration, made cards and decorations, decorated the tree, made chocolate shapes for the Christmas Fayre … but one of the most important jobs of all was making our reindeer food. Here are some photos of the morning children busy with their preparations.

Christmas Jumper Day
The last day of term was “Christmas Jumper Day” and most joined in with the festive fun, putting a smile on everyone’s face with your fantastic jumpers. Lots of the children were very keen to perform Jingle Bells so they turned the climbing unit into a stage and sang their hearts out to get in the festive spirit. We hope that these photos make you feel as happy as the children felt on Wednesday.
Christmas Holiday
We hope that everyone enjoys the Christmas holiday with their family. Nursery is closed until Thursday 5th January 2017 but I still have some photos to share from last term so I will post them here over the next week or two.
More Party Fun
Here are the promised photos that show that the party spirit was just as evident in the afternoon party as the morning one. As you can see, they joined in the dancing and games with enthusiasm and were also lucky enough to get a visit from Santa. As with the photos of the morning children, please click then click again to make the photos clearer.
Party Time
A fun time was had by all at our Christmas parties today with something for everyone, be it games, dancing or party food. The children were also delighted to have a visit from Santa, despite it being such a busy time of year for him. Thank you Santa – we all really appreciated your visit.
The photos below give you a taste of our morning party and photos of the afternoon party will follow in the next day or two.

Christmas Cards
Here is a selection of the lovely cards the children designed for their families. We love that they are all different and hope that yours is taking pride of place in your home at Christmas.
Sparkles and Glitter
Hopefully you should all have your Christmas decorations home by now. The children enjoyed this simple way to make a decoration for their tree and everyone had the opportunity to make it unique to them with the various sparkles and glitter available. We hope that they are on your tree and will be able to make an appearance every year to remind you of your time in Nursery.
Christmas Family Learning
More parents and grandparents joined the children on Friday to take part in the Family Learning ‘make and take’ Christmas activities organised by Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator. We hope that your wreaths are now adding to the festive decorations in your homes. Thank you again Eileen for organising these fun sessions. Everyone seems to have thoroughly enjoyed them.
Christmas Family Learning
Thanks must go again to Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, for providing super Christmas activities for children and their families to enjoy together. As you can see from our photos, Christmas wreaths and Rudolph sandwiches were being made earlier this week and they certainly look like good fun.
It’s lovely to see so many families participating, despite everyone being so busy at this time of year, and we really appreciate Eileen offering activities on several days. Tomorrow brings more sessions so we hope that those involved enjoy their Christmas ‘make and take’ session as much as these families did.
Confident Performance
As promised, here are some photos of the afternoon children just before their Christmas celebration. Just like the morning children, they showed confidence in their performance and sang beautifully for their families. Well done to everyone and thank you so much to all those who provided a wonderful audience for the children.
