We would like to thank Luca’s family for all the lovely art and craft activities that they donated to us recently. Lots of the children have been enjoying the Christmas crafts over the past week and have been taking great care when making decorations. Here are a few of the children busy at work, producing some great decorations for our Nursery tree and for their trees at home. Thank you Luca – everyone is enjoying your kind gifts.

Christmas Post
If any of the children would like to give Christmas cards to their friends, please use the Christmas post box in the cloakroom area to post them and we will sort the cards into their trays. Thank you.
Family Christmas Crafts
We would like to remind you that our Family Learning Christmas craft activities will be running on Monday and Tuesday of this week (7th and 8th December). Those who have requested a place, should initially make their way to the Family Room then Eileen will collect the children from Nursery when you are ready for them. We hope that you and the children enjoy these festive activities.
Christmas Has Arrived
You know Christmas has truly arrived in Nursery when the Christmas tree appears and the children were certainly excited in the Rainbow Room when the Christmas boxes were brought out for them to investigate. As you can see, we had lots of enthusiastic helpers who made a great job of decorating their tree. What a lot of happy smiles at the end of their busy morning as the children settled down in front of the tree to sing their Christmas songs.

Frosty Scenes
The corridors of Hecklegirth are looking very festive now and we have put up a display of some of the children’s recent art work in school. As you can see, there are many ways to make snowmen and winter trees so well done to the children for producing individual pieces of work. You can have a close look next week if you plan to come to the Christmas Fayre – look for the board opposite Mrs. Alexander’s office. Until then, here is a taster of some of the children’s art.

Christmas Dates
We have now added those all-important Christmas dates to our diary but wish to draw your attention to them here to make sure no-one misses them. We hope that you will be able to join us for our Christmas celebration with Rev. McGougan on Friday 18th December and Christmas parties will be on Monday 21st December. Details will follow nearer the time.
Reindeer Food
It’s been a busy few weeks in the lead up to Christmas. As well as preparing for our Christmas celebration and having fun at our parties, the children enjoyed a variety of Christmas activities in the craft area. Here are a few photos of them busy making reindeer food and tree decorations from bread. We hope that your trees look lovely with their new decorations and don’t forget to put your reindeer food out tonight boys and girls – hopefully all that glitter will help Rudolph and his friends find their way.
Christmas Jumper Day
Our last day before the Christmas holiday was “Christmas Jumper Day” and lots of you joined in with the festive fun. Those fantastic jumpers seemed to put a smile on everyone’s face and you all put us in the mood for Christmas.
Christmas Comments
Mollie’s Mum was pleased with the book hamper she won:
“The book hamper was wonderful, thank you so much! Mollie was very happy indeed.”
She also left us a comment about our Christmas performance:
“What lovely singing! I loved seeing Mollie all dressed up and enjoying singing songs with all the afternoon boys and girls.”
We were all very proud of all the children who performed so well in front of a very big audience.
Christmas Celebration
We have some photos of the children as they prepared for our Christmas celebration with their families. We hope that, like us, you were very proud of them all as they behaved and sang so beautifully in front of a big audience. Thank you so much to Rev. McGougan for joining us and to the many family members who helped to make this a special occasion for the children.
