Well Done Chloe

Chloe’s family is delighted with the certificate she received last week:

“Chloe was over the moon with her award and was so excited to tell me all about it when I got home from work. Very proud mummy, daddy and big sister (Emma). Well done Chloe. xx”

It’s lovely to hear that Chloe was so excited about her award. She thoroughly deserved it so well done Chloe.

Outdoor Learning On Fire

After the excitement of Hallowe’en, the children have been talking this week about Bonfire Night. They have been learning why we celebrate it and sharing their personal experiences as well as responding to “Music For The Royal Fireworks” by Handel. No learning about Bonfire Night is complete, of course, without a discussion about staying safe but, rather than simply talking about the dangers of fire and fireworks, we went out into the Nursery garden to make our own little fire. There was lots of discussion about the heat from a fire and what could happen if we touched it although we all agreed that it was lovely to feel the heat from a safe distance. We watched some sparklers being lit and talked about who is allowed to touch fireworks. There was lots of learning happening around this little fire and it even continued into the next day when some of the children decided that the fire must have gone out because it was raining and water puts out fire. Well done boys and girls for sharing your ideas and showing good understanding of the importance of safety around fires and fireworks.

Nursery Uniform

Everyone has recently received a leaflet in their child’s tray outlining the new way to order Nursery and school uniforms. We hope that this is helpful as you will now be able to order uniform when you need it rather than at specific times during the year. This system also has the added bonus of providing a 5% cash donation to our school with every purchase you make. Simply click on the link on the right that says ‘Order Nursery Uniform’ for simple ordering.

Photo Comments

Kenzie’s Mum has been looking at the photos of the ghosts the children made in Primary 1:

“Kenzie loves her ghost, still got it at home. Loves scaring everyone who comes to visit.”
Well done Kenzie for looking after your ghost. I hope your visitors aren’t too scared.

Leah’s Dad enjoyed the outdoor play and party photos:

“Leah enjoying her snack and looking great as usual!” and “Leah having a fantastic time playing with her pals outside”.

Thank you both for taking the time to leave comments.

Hallowe’en Party Fun

Thanks to everyone for dressing the children in their super outfits for our Hallowe’en parties last week. We dooked for apples, caught marshmallows with our teeth, played lots of games and enjoyed party food together. It was lovely to see how confident the children have become, with children from both rooms happy to have fun together. We hope you can get a flavour of the parties from our photos.

Nursery and Primary 1 Hallowe’en Fun

Great fun was had last week with Early Years Hallowe’en activities. Primary 1 visited Nursery to decorate biscuits and Nursery children enjoyed craft activities in the Primary 1 classrooms. This was a great opportunity to build the confidence of the children to work in different environments and with different people. As you can see, they got right into the Hallowe’en spirit. Thank you Mrs. Lindsay and Miss Campbell for welcoming the Nursery children into your classrooms.
