Family Learning

We would like to remind you that Family Learning Christmas activities will take place this week on Tuesday 12th December and Thursday 14th December. Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has been planning some fun activities for you to enjoy with your children so we hope that lots of families can join in. Younger children are welcome too.

Hecklegirth Fundraisers

We are delighted to hear that a grand sum of over £1700 was raised at last week’s Christmas Fayre. It was lovely to see lots of Nursery children and their families on the night and we would like to thank everyone who contributed to this great total, whether by donating to our hampers, buying squares or attending the Fayre. The Hecklegirth Fundraisers group has already kindly given us a donation towards our Christmas party so our thanks go to everyone involved.

Cool Photo

Natan, one of our older pupils in school, has been looking at our photos of the children making chocolate shapes for the Christmas Fayre:

“Really Cool Photo I am in p5/6”

Thank you Natan for taking the time to look at our blog and leaving a comment – it’s good to know that older pupils are interested in Nursery. We really appreciate your interest.

Happy Reading

Enid’s Mum was one of the parents who joined in with our reading day:

“I really enjoyed the opportunity to come in and read with the children, it makes me so happy to be able to do these things with Enid especially when I see how happy it makes her.”

We really appreciated all those parents joining us as we try to find different ways to encourage literacy for our children. We hope to offer this opportunity again next term if there is interest from our families. Thank you to all those who took part this term.

“Squishy, Sticky and Slooey”

The children have been enjoying an interesting sensory experience as they have experimented with some gloop. Here are some of the comments they made about how it felt and photos of their experience.
Eadie: slimy.
Archie: it feels like soup.
Safoora: squishy.
Cameron: sticky.
Devlin: like banana.
Aoife: yukky and cold.
Priya: it’s slooey. It feels like gooey, gooey.
Cali: it’s a bit warm.
Derry: it feel like alien stuff.
Crue: it’s slime.
Leah: squidgy.
Halle: all weird.
Enid: a bit chilly and jelly.

We love your ideas boys and girls. I’m sure people can imagine what if felt like by your descriptions.
