We hope that, like us, you were very proud of all the children as they behaved and sang so beautifully in front of a big audience at our Christmas celebration yesterday. Huge thanks go to Mr. Bill Malone, Old Parish Church, and Mr. Palmer for joining us and to the many family members who helped to make this a special occasion for the children. Here are a few photos of the morning children as they prepared for their performance. We will post photos of the afternoon children soon.
Winter Is Here
As well as our recent learning about Christmas, the children have begun to talk about winter and the changes we see in a different season. Here is a selection of the art work that they have created so far. We loved it so much that we made a display in the school corridor for everyone to see.
Christmas Cards
Here is a small selection of the lovely Christmas cards that the children designed for their families. Yours will no doubt be taking pride of place in your home over the festive season.
Party Time
We would like to remind you that tomorrow, 19th December, will be party day for the morning and afternoon children. We look forward to seeing the children in their party clothes and you are welcome to join us at 11.15 or 2.20 to see Santa if you would like. Entrance will be by the Nursery door as normal.
Christmas Celebration
We hope that you are all looking forward to our Christmas celebration tomorrow, Monday 18th December. Morning parents can join us at 11.20 and afternoon parents at 2.20. The Nursery door will be opened for entry through the usual entrance and parents and family can park in the John Bell car park.
We are keeping our Christmas celebration informal to encourage the children to enjoy a relaxed and happy performance of the songs they have been learning. Mr. Bill Malone, from the Old Parish Church, has kindly agreed to join us and we are delighted that many of our families have indicated that they would like to be part of our celebration. As you can see, the children have been practising to make sure that you enjoy their songs. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Sunshine Sparkles
The Sunshine Room children have been enjoying lots of sparkles and glitter in their play over the last week or two so hopefully their families will have lots of festive pictures and cards to brighten up their homes.
Congratulations
Letter Tree
The beautiful decorations on our star tree have already been shared with you but, as you may have noticed, we also have a “Letter Tree” where each child used a range of craft materials to decorate the initial letter of their name. We absolutely love these creations and hope that they will be decorations that will hang on the children’s trees at home for years to come. I wonder if the children can spot their own work?
Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Star
To add variety to our “Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Star” tree the children experimented with a range of materials to see what they could create using lollipop sticks as a base. As you can see from these examples, they showed originality and creativity to produce wonderful additions to the stars on our tree. Why not have a close look at our trees to see exactly what great work the children have done?
Christmas Decor
Christmas arrived recently in Nursery when the Christmas trees appeared and the children decorated them with the decorations that they had made themselves. Both the Sunshine and Rainbow rooms worked hard and we think that they made a great job of their trees. Please have a close at their work in Nursery to see if you agree.
