We seem to have had so many exciting events to share from our busy Health Week and here you can see the morning children enjoying a session with Mike, the tennis coach, who provided lots of fun activities to help the children learn control of a tennis ball. Mike told us that there are classes for Nursery age children at our local tennis courts so we hope that these children have enjoyed their experience and may want to take part in these classes in the future. They certainly showed great enthusiasm for all the activities.

Meet The Parents
Our Primary 6 buddies very kindly took the time to write letters to their Nursery child’s family so that they know a little about them and they have recently introduced themselves to their parents/carers. We hope that this has eased a few of the worries you may have had about your child moving to Primary 1 and that you enjoy sharing the letters with your children. We thought that we would share a few photos of everyone meeting each other.
Thank you Primary 6 children for doing a super job. You certainly are responsible citizens and effective contributors!
Fairy House Makeover
Last year we created a little fairy garden in a corner of our outdoor area and recently some of the children had noticed that it could do with a lick of paint and tidy up for the poor fairies. What better activity for a sunny afternoon than to paint our fairy houses so a small group set about the task with great enthusiasm and made a super job as you can see. Great teamwork boys and girls! We think that the fairies will be delighted with their home makeover.
Minibeast Hunt
The children’s interest in minibeasts has developed over the past few weeks as we have talked about life cycles and kept an eye on our growing caterpillars. The outdoor area has been a hive of activity as some of the children have investigated exactly which minibeasts live in our garden. Here is a little gallery of our young scientists at work. Some of the photos were taken by them too so good work boys and girls.

Dancing With An Elephant
Our local dance school, run by Maureen Smith, kindly provided a great dance experience for some of the Nursery children during our recent Health Week. Not only did we have several very patient dancers to support the children in learning some dance moves but Nellie the Elephant even paid a visit and joined in with our dancing. This was a super experience for the children who came away excited and happy so we would like to thank Maureen and all the dancers for giving up their time to work with us. We all appreciate your support very much.
Word Of The Week
Our “Word of the Week” this week this week is senses as we talk about what each part of our bodies does and our senses.

Make A Smoothie
The smoothie cycle was another great fun event that some Nursery children took part in during our recent Health Week. The children chose from a selection of delicious fruits and juices which were put in the liquidiser on the back of a specially adapted bike. They then pedalled the bike to activate the liquidiser and produce their smoothie. What an exciting way to make a smoothie – hard work but great fun.
Afternoon Anklebiters
The Anklebiters activities were on the menu in Health Week for the children in the afternoon as well as the morning so here a little snapshot of them having fun on the school field. Thank you to Anklebiters – the children loved your activities.

Anklebiters
Part of our Health Week activities involved an Anklebiters session on the school field. It was slightly chilly for our morning session but the children soon warmed up when they stretched, jumped, ran and turned every way to follow instructions for the fun activities. Here is a snapshot of the children keeping fit, healthy and happy.
