Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest children’s Christmas project and children in Hecklegirth can donate a Christmas shoebox which will be sent to needy children who will undoubtedly be delighted with your gifts.
Pupils in school and Nursery can donate boxes between 1st and 14th November so that they can be delivered in time for Christmas. Please hand your boxes in to Nursery staff if you wish to contribute.
Amazing Outfits
Patrick’s family has been looking at the photos of the children dressed up for Hallowe’en:
“Wow what amazing scary outfits! Patrick loved being a bat 🦇.
Aww Patrick are you having snack?!!! Well done!”
The children did look super and they all seemed to enjoy having a special snack that day.
Happy Hallowe’en
Witches, ghosts, bats and a few superheroes arrived in Nursery on Tuesday for Hallowe’en. Thank you to all those who helped their children play the part – here are some photos we managed to capture of some of those super outfits in the afternoon. We will post photos of the morning children soon.
Pumpkins
One of our carved pumpkins provided great motivation for some of the children at the drawing table this week as they attempted observational drawing so we would like to share some of their work.

Spooky Or Sparkle Disco
We would like to remind you that the Hecklegirth Fundraisers are holding a “Spooky or Sparkle disco” tomorrow, 2nd November, in school. Nursery to Primary 2 children can come between 6.00 and 7.00. Entry is £1 and children must be accompanied by an adult. We hope that lots of you will be able to attend to enjoy the fun activities as well as the disco.

Dressing Up
Signs of Autumn
Joshua’s family has been looking at the photos of the children bringing in signs of Autumn that they have found with their families:
“Joshua loved gathering the leaves & conkers to show signs of Autumn ☺”
It was great to see so many children taking part in this activity. We are glad that Joshua enjoyed it.
Back To Nursery
We hope that you have had a lovely holiday with your families and look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, Monday 30th October, for the start of the new term. Morning children have a soft start, as usual, between 8.45 and 9.10 and afternoon children start at 12.15.
