Settled In

One of our new parents has been looking at the recent photos of the children enjoying their first few days in Nursery:

“Lovely to see them settled in and playing nicely together!”

It seems surprising that they have only been in Nursery a few days but they are already looking happy and relaxed. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. We love to hear from everyone.

New Children

Twelve new two and three year old children have joined us this term and they are beginning to settle into Nursery life. They are becoming familiar with the routines and are beginning to grow in confidence to try out a range of activities. We hope that our new families enjoy using our blog to get a feel for life in Hecklegirth Nursery and thought we would share a few photos of some of the children enjoying their first few days. If you have not already done so, we would appreciate it if you could please return your child’s permission forms and we can then show your child at play on our blog.

Winter Learning

Jack Frost was particularly helpful with our learning today as some of the children tried to work out why they could not dig outdoors as normal. The hard, frozen ground prompted them to try out all kind of tools, including the drill, to break through for treasure but they learned that frozen ground is very hard. There was more mystery when the water would not come out of the water butt tap and they wondered if the birds could possibly have drunk all of it over the weekend. Thank you Jack Frost for providing us with the best learning opportunity about winter that we could have had.

Welcome Back

After the first two days of the new term the children are settling back in to Nursery routines with confidence. As you can see, they are creating their own adventures in our ice cave, exploring the outdoor area and developing their learning in a range of activities.
Thank you to those new families who have returned their forms already – once we have your permission forms completed, the children will be able to make an appearance on our blog for the first time.

New Term

Tomorrow, Thursday 4th January, will be the start of term and we are looking forward to seeing everyone again, along with the twelve new children who will also be getting ready for their first day. We hope that they are excited to be starting Nursery and are looking forward to making new friends. No doubt everyone will make them feel welcome and we hope that this is the beginning of a happy experience for the children and their families.
Our morning session will have a soft start, as usual, between 8.45 and 9.10. The afternoon session will begin at 12.15. We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.
