Sunflower Seeds
As they have been learning a little about the artist Vincent Van Gogh, the children have been planting sunflowers seeds after looking at his famous painting of sunflowers. We have talked about what they will need to do to make their seed grow so hopefully the children should be able to look after them when they bring their sunflowers home in a week or two. We look forward to hearing about some super sunflowers or even seeing a photo once they begin to grow. Fingers crossed that they can be planted outdoors and turn into a lovely burst of sunshine in a corner of everyone’s garden.
Happy Smiles
Chloe and Joshua H’s families have been looking at the photos of the children on the tractor and meeting our little lamb visitor.
“Looks like everyone had fun. Really smiley faces in this picture. Chloe’s been enjoying all the visits recently.”
“Joshua looks like he really enjoyed sitting in the tractor. What a smile 😊 x “ and “Joshua looks happy 👍. Good photo of all the children.”
Thank you for taking time to leave comments. The children did really enjoy their day.
Family Learning
Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, has left a message for everyone:
“Thanks to everyone who came along to the Peep learning Together Family sessions today. This session was all about names – our names and our children’s names. I think the children really enjoyed writing their names and drawing pictures in the rainbow salt trays. The story today was about a visit to the Zoo and our favourite animals.
Next week we will be testing different kinds of play dough, including soap dough and making some play dough to take home. All welcome – come and join us.”
This sounds like a lot of fun! I have some photos from earlier today and hope to post them on the blog in the near future. Next PEEP session will be on Tuesday of next week if you like the sound of these type of activities and want to join in.
Funny Face
Vinnie’s family has been looking at the photos of the children on the tractor:
“Look at Vinnies funny face!!”
Yes, that is a good face Vinnie – I didn’t notice that when putting lots of photos on. It certainly looks like you were having fun.
Fire Station Visit
We would like to remind you that the children will be visiting Annan fire station tomorrow, Wednesday 26th April. Please ensure that they have warm coats and are wearing suitable footwear for a walk. Thank you to all those parents who have agreed to come with us. We are looking forward to an exciting visit.
Parents Early Education Partnership
We would like to remind everyone that the PEEP (Parents Early Education Partnership) sessions with Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, start tomorrow Tuesday 25th April. They will be held in Eileen’s room at 9-10 and 12.15-1.15. Further sessions will be on the 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th May. We hope that those taking part enjoy these sessions.
George the Lamb
Lily’s family has been looking at the photos of our RHET visit. They liked the photo of the girls on the tractor: “Aww lovely photo of Lily and Francesca!”
The photos with the lamb have also caught their eye:
“Lily has been telling me all about ‘George the lamb’ and how he gets milk from his mummy! She also says he’s 1month old??!”
I’m not sure that George is quite as young as that but he is a pet lamb still being looked after by Mrs. Ker.
