Paint, Pens and Paper

Paint, pens and paper are very popular in Nursery and lots of children have been enjoying art activities in their first full week, both indoors and out. Here is a selection of some of their work. Many more pictures have gone home so no doubt they will be decorating your fridges and walls. If you click then click again on a photo you can see more detail and the artist’s name. I wonder if any of the children can find their own work?

Looking After Baby

Danielle’s family liked the photo of her playing in the Nursery garden:

“Danielle loves all babys and prams so wasn’t surprised seeing this. Fab picture xx”

She certainly spent a lot of time looking after her baby. Thank you for leaving a comment. It’s good to know that parents are looking at our blog to see what the children have been doing in Nursery.

Outdoor Play

Most of the children have taken the opportunity of the lovely weather to explore the outdoor area so they are beginning to learn how to change their shoes and put on outdoor suits when required. Luckily the weather has been so warm that they have not been needed most days. Some children are developing their confidence on the big climbing frame, others have been designing roads or making magic potions in the mud kitchen. The outdoor area is certainly a very popular place to play.

Working Together

It’s great to know that more of our families are enjoying having a look at our blog to see what the children have been doing. Another parent has left this comment on one of the photos:

“First day at Nursery, such concentration to find the treasure! ☺”

It is surprising how quickly most of the children have settled into Nursery life. If your child has not quite settled yet, please do not worry about it as these are very early days. We, as adults, all cope differently in new situations and the children are the same. Please keep talking to us so that we can all work together to find the best way to help your child.

Happy Days

Callum’s family enjoyed the recent photo of him investigating in Nursery:

“Aw when I saw this I was laughing. What a boy! Good to see that he’s learning.”

Ava’s family has been looking at our photos too:

“Ava loves drawing it’s her favourite thing to do at nursery. She likes to draw rainbows and butterflies 😊 “

Thank you both for taking the time to leave a comment. There’s no doubt that Ava spends a lot of happy times at the drawing table. It’s lovely to see how confident the children are becoming in their new environment already.

Children At Play

Thank you very much to all those who have returned their forms. We really appreciate it and will be able to share more photos here once we have the blog permission forms.
Please remember to check your child’s tray on a daily basis for their work and our letters. A copy of our first newsletter is there now so it would be great if you could collect it the next time you are in Nursery. We would like to share a few more photos of the children at play.

First Comments

Lily has left a comment on her first blog photo:

“This is me painting a picture of daddy and my baby brother Leo”.

I think painting must be one of your favourite activities Lily. You have a lovely piece of artwork on the wall too.

Callum’s family has also been looking at our first few photos:

“Callum is very excited to be at Hecklegirth nursery. He has enjoyed his first day there. He especially loves the outdoor garden with all the diggers and tractors. He feels like a big boy now because he comes to school with his big sisters every morning. He can’t wait to come back tomorrow🤗”

We’re glad you’re enjoying Nursery Callum and we have noticed that you enjoy outdoor play. It was exciting for you to chat to your sister today too when she was out in the school playground.

Thank you both for taking the time to leave comments. We would love to hear from lots of our families on our blog.

Happy Start

It has been great to see all the familiar faces from last year in our first two days of a new Nursery year and lovely to begin to get to know our new children and their families.
We are able to share these photos of a few children at play in their first days. Once we have the blog permission slips returned from everyone, we will able to share more photos and examples of the children’s work here. We hope that you will find this a valuable insight into the life of our Nursery and that you can use the blog to add comments about your child’s experience.
Simply click on the word “comment” under the title of each post if you wish to leave a comment. Please be aware that these will not appear immediately, as they are monitored by the administrator before publication, but you should see your comment within a day or two.
Thank you to all our parents for working with us to provide a smooth and happy start for the children.
