As promised, here is a gallery of some of the snowmen the children have been creating recently. It has been super to see them plan which materials they will use from the selection available and we think that they have done a great job of producing their own individual snowmen.

Christmas Hampers
Thank you very much to those who have brought lovely gifts to add to our hampers for the Christmas Fayre. This is just a few of the children who have kindly brought in donations which will be made into two hampers.
Thanks also go to those who are selling their squares for the Hecklegirth Fundraisers. The winners of our Nursery hampers will certainly be very lucky so good luck everyone. We hope that you all have the date in your diary for the Christmas Fayre which is on December 7th.
Well Done
Ethan’s family is delighted with his recent certificate:
“We are so proud of Ethan for getting a certificate. He is very happy.”
Well done Ethan! It’s lovely to hear that you are pleased about your award.
Super Snowmen
Lots of snowmen have been appearing in the art area of Nursery lately and it’s great to see the range of ideas the children can produce to create some wonderful individual works of art.
This is our display to contribute to the air of Christmas in the school corridor which is lined with lots of super snowmen by every class. I wonder if the children can find their own work of art? Look out for lots of snowmen appearing in Nursery too. We will post some individual photos soon.

Proud Parents
Isaac’s family is delighted with his award:
“Isaac was so pleased to win a certificate last week. We’re very very proud of him.”
We are proud of you too Isaac. You thoroughly deserved that certificate. Well done!
Congratulations
Congratulations to the worthy winners of last week’s certificates. We are proud of you both.
New Wood Supplies
As our wood supplies were dwindling in our outdoor area, we were lucky to get a delivery as a kind donation from Mr. Kerr at the end of last term. As you can see from the photos, the children loved being little helpers to carry the wood into the garden and some decided that they wanted it painted so they took on the responsibility of doing that themselves. Of course, as soon as a new pile of wood appeared, it was not long before dens were being built and lots of super imaginative play developed as a result. Well done for more super teamwork boys and girls.
Welcome
We are delighted to welcome Miss Awde back to the Nursery team after her maternity leave. She will be in Nursery every Friday and is looking forward to getting to know lots of new children.
We would also like to thank Mrs. Shaw for her great contribution to our team while she has been covering Miss Awde’s leave for the past few months.
Activity Bags Library
We would like to remind you that tomorrow, Tuesday 22nd November, is the first day for our activity bags “library”. The bags will be given out from the Family Learning room opposite the school hall.
If your child attends morning sessions you can collect a bag at the end of the session from Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator. The bag should then be returned the following Tuesday at the start of the morning session. Please leave the returned bag on your child’s peg and Eileen will collect it from there.
If your child attends Nursery in the afternoon you can collect a bag when you bring your child at the start of the session. You should bring your bag to the Family Learning room when you collect a new one.
If you would like an activity bag but can’t collect on a Tuesday please let Eileen know and she will try to make alternative arrangements.
Children in Need
Thank you to all those who contributed to our Children in Need ‘dress as you please day’. We are delighted to say that Nursery raised £78.33 as part of a grand total of £302 raised by Hecklegirth School so thank you very much to everyone who contributed.
