Parents Early Education Partnership (PEEP)

Parents Early Education Partnership (PEEP)

PEEP learning together family sessions are fun and include talk time for parents/carers then the children will join you for stories, songs, and activities.  The activities are designed to support your child’s early learning and development and will be run by Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator.

Unlike the ‘one-off’ sessions Eileen offers, e.g. Easter, Christmas make and take, PEEP is a weekly course.

PEEP will start after the Easter holiday on a Tuesday morning from 9 – 10* and Tuesday afternoon from  12.15 – 1.15*. Dates are as follows:

Tuesday 25th April
Tuesday 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th May.

The number Eileen can take on the course is limited so, if you would like to join, please let her know as soon as possible so that she can add your name to her list. Nursery staff can pass on a message or give you Eileen’s contact number.

*If you are interested, but the day/times do not suit please let Eileen know.

Proud as Punch

Olivia’s family is delighted with her recent award:

“Olivia was as proud as punch with her certificate! Mummy, Daddy and Tilly are so pleased with all her efforts! She is definitely a mini me with wanting to write and draw all the time!! 😍”

Well done Olivia – everyone is proud of you. Keep up the good work!

Family Easter Crafts

Tuesday saw the first Family Learning sessions to make Easter bowls and pop-up bunnies. It was lovely to see Mums, Dads, aunties and grandparents all joining the children, as well as little brothers and sisters, for the ‘make and take’ activities.
Thank you to Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, for providing a super activity for families to enjoy together and thank you also to everyone who came along. The next sessions are on Friday 17th March at 9.00-9.45 or 2.15 – 3.00. We hope that you have fun.

Who Helps You?

After recently hearing about who helps the morning children, here are some of the comments from the afternoon children.

Frankie N: Daddy helps me get the food and drinks and cups because I can’t reach them.
Peter: I’d ask Dad when I’m stuck on the building.
Meris: Daddy helps me to tidy up and hoover.
Harvey M.: Daddy helps me to make hot chocolate.
Kenzie: if I was trying to speak Spanish, I’d ask my auntie for help ’cause she speaks Spanish.
Leon: if I got stuck in the car Daddy would help.
Amelia: Mummy helps me tidy the Lego.
Kyle: my Mummy helps me to make cake.
Bethany: I’d ask Mummy for help if I hurt my finger.
Neve: if I was stuck on a train track I’d need help. I’d ask Mummy.
Ethan: my Mummy helps me get out from underground and she wobbles me from side to side.
Noah: Mummy helps me get my blanket from under the bed.
Evan: my Daddy helps me reach my cup.
Joshua H.: I’d ask Mummy if I was stuck in a tree and I bumped.

Well done boys and girls for coming up with your own ideas.

Visits to our Community

Two more families have been looking at our photos of the recent visits out to our community. Joshua H’s Mum said:

“All the children look like they enjoyed their visit to tesco. Especially those yummy pancakes 😊” and “Joshua loved looking at all the cctv, he said this was one of the best bits of the visit to the police station ☺”.

It’s good to hear that Joshua enjoyed himself. The children did like having a look at what was happening on the High Street.

Enid’s family also left us a comment:

“Enid has really enjoyed all the visits, but especially Tesco. She is using the fruit & veg reward chart to help encourage her to eat more fruit and veg and it is working 😊”

Well done Enid! I wonder if anyone else is using the chart at home?

Family Learning

We would like to remind you that Eileen’s Family Learning Easter craft sessions are this week on Tuesday, 14th March and Friday 17th March when you can come along to make Easter bowls and pop-up bunnies which sounds like fun.
If you have put your name down for the 11.00 or 2.15 slots, please use the front door of the school and come to the Family Learning room. Those coming at other times can call in after dropping their child off at Nursery.

The Giant Pancake

Olivia’s family enjoyed the photos of the children on their recent visit to Tesco:

“Fab pictures! Olivia really enjoyed her visit to Tesco especially getting the giant pancake for snack and putting items through the chekout! She told us the baker had been making pancakes for 29 years! 😄”

The baker certainly had been making pancakes for a long time but I’m not sure it was quite that long. It’s good to hear that you enjoyed your visit Olivia and you are right, those pancakes were delicious.
