We learned about who St. Ninian was; how he travelled to Scotland, built a church and told people about God. We enjoyed acting out the story.
Monthly Archives: September 2018
Primary 2 – Sports council
Our sports councillors went to their first meeting and reported back to us.
Primary 2 – Growing cress
Mrs Taylor showed us cress and explained that you can eat it in sandwiches.
We made heads full of damp cotton wool, ready to sprinkle seeds onto. They will grow ( and look like green hair!) and we can cut the cress and eat it.
Primary 2 – Making our own sums
Some of P2 have been looking at how numbers are made up and writing sums to explain this. We are feeling very clever and are proud of our achievements.
We found that 36 is 10 + 10 + 10 + 6 or 30 + 6.
We discovered that 36 – 6 = 30 and some of us worked out that 36 -16 =20 and 36 -26 = 10.

Primary 2 – JLT
Our class representatives have been telling us how they are going to be involved in keeping St. Ninian’s such a great school.
Primary 2 – Writing numerals
Sometimes we get our numbers the wrong way round. We have been practising super numeral formation.
Primary 2 – tidy up time
Our bin loves to eat rubbish. We feed him to help keep the floor tidy.
Primary 2 – Number sequencing
We enjoyed sequencing the numbers on the 100 square and playing games suggested on the class blog, on the laptops.
Primary 2 -New toys
We had great fun trying out the new toys!
Primary 2 – More fun at the farm
We found that the sheep were just like giant teddy bears! They were fun to feed.
The chickens were fun to feed too.
We saw the fruit and vegetables Rosemary was selling.
We saw the milking machine and some of us felt it suck our fingers—it was very tickly!
The bucket of milk from this morning’s milking was very creamy- we saw spots of yellow cream on the top.
Back at school we thought about where the ingredients of our packed lunches came from.
