It’s really useful being able to tell the time!

We are looking at o’clock times in analogue and digital versions.

We spoke about the origin of pumpkin lanterns, then made paper pumpkin decorations. ( We are getting very good at cutting!)

We went on a walk to discover how the trees were changing.

We put the things we found in a tray and are watching to see how they might change.

Will the leaves continue to change colour?

Will they stay nice and soft?

This term we will be looking at celebrations, why we remember certain dates and how we mark these days.

This term we are concentrating on addition.

Some of us have been practising adding  1 more.  ( we know it is just the next number). This game helps us practice this skill.

Last term we used Numicon shapes to help us with number work. This term some of us are using the coloured Cuiseinaire rods. We have learned what number each coloured rod represents and are now using the rods to make simple sums.

How excited we were to continue the music fun we began in P.1, when Mr Maclean came to visit us today.

We learned about pitch ( high and low), beat and rhythm with some fun songs and games.

Today we practised writing the bouncy letters ( b and p).

We used bouncy balls to demonstrate the way these letters bounce. It helped us remember how to form these letters correctly.

We love our new books and the cushions and floor mat for our reading area.

We can take the cushions and relax anywhere when reading a book.

We can read with a soft toy too.
