Super Scientists

Today we learned more about how a seed grows into a plant and what a plant needs to grow effectively. The 2 things are light from the sun and water. We have set up an experiment to test out our ideas. We have a seed with both light and water, another with just light, another with just water and another with none. We guessed what we thought might happen and can’t wait to see if we are right! We also checked on our sunflowers from last week….they have grown so much already. We passed them around to take a closer look at the roots and shoots developing.  Finally we had fun planting our own mini- grass garden and teeny pots of grass which we are turning into crazy grass heads!

Buddy Numeracy

We worked with our P7 Buddies on some 100 square work, some adding and taking away challenges using our Numicon and other strategies to help us to ‘prove it’ to our buddy when we thought we had an answer. We also impressed them with our ‘fact family’ learning, where we show the link between number relationships. Miss Thompson gave us some tasks and we worked though them independently, showing off our learning and skills and explaining our thinking.

Gaelic Football 💚

Another of our Fit Thursday activities was Gaelic Football which Mr McCormack helped us with. We loved how in the game you can pick the ball up and also enjoyed charging at our classmates to snatch the ball first. To play this sport you have to be fast, strong, good at ball skills and work well together!
