Getting to know some of the new P1s

We have been sharing some of our learning and skills with the nursery boys and girls who are coming to Primary 1 after the summer. We have been telling them about some of the things we love about school! This week we had a joint play session and made the most of the lovely weather by getting outside into the garden. Next we are going to be showing them some of our favourite numeracy games with the numicon.

Buddy Numeracy

We worked with our P7 Buddies on some 100 square work, some adding and taking away challenges using our Numicon and other strategies to help us to ‘prove it’ to our buddy when we thought we had an answer. We also impressed them with our ‘fact family’ learning, where we show the link between number relationships. Miss Thompson gave us some tasks and we worked though them independently, showing off our learning and skills and explaining our thinking.

Burns Day Celebrations

We are all wearing a mainly red tartan.

So are we…. That makes 13 all together!

Our tartans are mostly blue so we made a group.

And we made a group because we had lots of black in our tartans!

We had a great time dancing with the other classes and here is a photo of us performing at the Burns Assembly. We performed ‘SairĀ Teeth’ which is a poem and two songs called ‘The World Must Be Coming Tae An End’ and the ‘Banana Song’ which we then had fun teaching to the whole school!
