Any recommendations for installation of software comes under the proviso that you check these out yourself before installing, have up-to-date antivirus software installed on any machine, and are taking responsibility for any device damage that occurs as a result. I would recommend that any alterations should be made to devices that are not the main device in the house, or are otherwise unusable without the update/install. Any device that breaks after following advice in this blog are entirely your own responsibility.

Devices that are still under warranty should not be used. Altering a device under warranty WILL void the warranty of that device.
