Our class p5/6 is doing the 1930’s and we found out that they discovered a planet going around the sun. About 2 years ago they discovered that is wasn’t a planet after all so now its just really confusing! Feel free to ask any questions.
August 31st 1939
Intimation was received today that evacuation would take place tomorrow, 1st September, commencing at 8 am.
The school was closed as from this afternoon till further notice by order from the Director of Education
August 28th !939
Today was occupied as a rehearsal for evacuation according to Government Scheme.
The registers were not marked today. 917 persons took part in the rehearsal. This number includes school children, pre-school children with mothers, helpers and teachers.
August 21st 1939
The workmen engaged in rendering the school building suitable as a First Aid Post, are still working. Rooms 2 and 10 are permanently taken over and entrances are obstructed.
Mrs Marshall has been transfered to Blackness School and Miss Wilkie has resigned owing to marriage.
September 23rd 1938
Another week with a very good attendance. Had intimation from the Education Office that Miss Greig has been appointed to take charge of the nursery class to be formed next month.

The total number of pupils taking milk this week is now six hundred and ninety five.

The supply of milk to school children commenced today. Three hundred and forty three bottles were supplied. This number has been continued all week.

234 children were supplied with milk this forenoon. This is the beginning of an experiment. Dr Kidd called.
