Fireworks Assembly

Primary 3 produced a very successful assembly about Fireworks night where they explained the history behind Guy Fawkes Night and interesting facts and safely advice for bonfire night. They were all dressed in fire colours and everyone individually stood up and very clearly said all their words into a microphone with little help from their prompt cards. Miss Ahmad and myself are very proud of you all for learning your words so well!

Thank you to all the parents who came along to enjoy the assembly with the class and thank you all very much for helping your children learn their words, making the assembly such a success!

Our topic this term is “George’s Marvellous Medicine.” We will be using this topic to create ideas for learning such as character studies, potion and spell writing, recipies using weight and volume. We have already started to hear about the lovely Grandma so please ask us and we will explain what she is like!

Three in a row! Well done P3!

A huge well done to P3 for winning time in the Sunshine room for a third week in a row! I am really proud of you all for achieving this!

Last week we read our Bobo stories to the nursery children. It was such a lovely day we enjoyed our stories in the garden. We all worked really hard and tried our best to keep the little ones entertained!

Our class galleon winning table will be counted and the winning table announced by the end of this week, so watch this space to hear who the winners were!

As the term ends, we have announced our date for our assembly. It is Tuesday 1st November at 11am. Parents are welcome! The theme for our assembly is Fireworks Night. A note has been sent home explaining that each of you are to learn your words and where possible, provide a red, orange or yellow top or t.shirt if possible to wear on the day.

19th September

A huge well done to all of you who have made such a wonderful effort with our topic homework research. Our Classroom 1970’s Museum is looking wonderful.

In class, we have been writing wonderful stories about Bobo, written by Jez Alborough. We have written stories in groups and then each produced our own books. We are hoping to read these wonderful stories to the nursery children in the next week or so. We will be confident individuals by doing this! Keep following our blog for photos of our presentations.

Welcome to P3 in 2011!

Welcome to our Blog!

This year P3 will be following a rainbow theme throughout the class. Their journey will mean they climb the class rainbow with attainment and achievement and fill the bucket at the end of the rainbow with gold coins. To date, we have 2 gold coins which have been class targets. Our target for last week was not achieved by all so we have made it our target for this week too….”Please have all homework completed and handed in by Thursday.” If we all manage this this week, we get our class gold coin to help us over the rainbow. With your help and encouragement, we can do this! Homework is handed out on a Monday and is to be back in class for a Thursday. Reading should be checked each night.

We have welcomed 2 new aquatic members to our class this year. They are our goldfish called Shiny and Nemo. They are swimming over their achievement rainbow too!

A huge thank you all for your support for our 1970’s topic! The toys display looks wonderful! The 1970’s topic we are looking at is a snapshot decade of the last 100 years at Dens Road Primary School. Each of the other classes are looking at other decades, resulting in historical investigation of the past 100 years throughout the school.

Please remember that gym is a Wednesday so bring gym kit (shorts and t.shirt) and leave it in class. Long hair should be tied up and no jewellery please!

Activity kit (joggers, sweatshirts etc) is to be provided for a Friday. The children go home in their activity kit and it is their responsibility to take their school clothes home with them on a Friday afternoon!
