Tilly in the News!

Book Week Scotland (Nov 2021)

As part of our reading accreditation, Mrs. Speed (PT) worked very hard to organise and promote reading with an array of activities including virtual author ‘visits’ and a Family Night.  With the support of the Parent Council children took part in a ‘Readathon’ to help raise funds for the new Literacy Cafe to continue to encourage reading throughout the school and within our families.

Digital Schools Accreditation (Oct 2021)

In October we were accredited with a Digital School recognition award.  This was thanks to the hard work of Mrs.Duncan (PT) and Mr.Scotland (Acting PT) over a few years to help promote digital confidence within the staff and learners.  Staff training and collaborative work along with an organised, tidy and full class ready ICT digital lab, several class I-pads, Chromebooks for all P6 and P7s helped support all of their hard work in gaining this prestigious award.  The report highlighted how well digital literacy was promoted and supported across the school as evidenced by consultations with staff and learners’.

“The leadership and vision for development in digital technologies have been very clearly defined and shared in Tillicoultry PS”
“Teaching staff were enthusiastic about the digital technologies vision for the school and were openly excited by their progress so far”
“All learners felt that their teachers had provided a range of support to improve their digital skills or understanding”
“There is sound provision of digital resources in Tillicoultry PS. It is well managed and appropriately deployed to effectively meet learner needs”
