This week the children have enjoyed learning their next sounds through the Read, Write, Inc programme. Children can identify and say the m, a and s sound. They are doing so well.

In Maths we have been practising the formation of numbers 1-5 and practising our counting skills to 10 and 20 through number songs and counting games.

This week we read The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The children enjoyed collecting leaves and twigs from the school grounds to create a cosy home for the caterpillar.

Herea a few quotes from the children about their learning this week.

Mia – I liked writing my numbers

Kye – I liked playing games in P.E.

Josh – I liked drawing a picture of what makes me happy.

Welcome to P1M!

Hi Everyone!

A very warm welcome to Redwell Primary School and Primary 1M! It has already been a very busy week for the children. They have been learning lots of new routines of the school and classroom but are coping fantastically well and have settled nicely into life at Redwell.

In Primary 1M we will have P.E. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. It would be very much appreciated if children could come to school on those days with polo shirts and jumpers as opposed to shirt and tie. This will make it easier for your child to change from the uniform to their P.E. kit.

Children are encouraged to bring a water bottle to school every day to drink in the classroom. Only plain water is allowed within the classroom.

I am looking forward to getting to know the children better over the next few weeks and watching them grow and develop in their abilities.
