We went to  Poggle Wood and we went the opposite way from the Sponsored Walk. Then we went into a very muddy ditch and we had to go around it. We found conkers on the ground and in the trees. Then William found a conker with a slug in it. Then I found a conker which was next to a tree. Most of the conkers were spiky . We had umbrellas but it did not rain. When we came back to class we had a wee conker fight and I loved it.

We made a picture of the hills. We coloured them in when we came back inside.

Tomorrow we are getting our pictures done by the newspaper.

We walked to the car park and we copied car number plates. I liked it.

We used water and we put a paperclip in it but it sank. We did it with paper towel and it floated. I am going to try it  in my house.

We went outside and we did some science. We put water over the umbrellas and it showed us they were waterproof.

First we had to go down to the orchard and we picked some plums for the plum tarts. To make the plums all sticky we put some butter, some golden syrup and cinnamon.

Hopefully all the children enjoyed their  first day in Primary 1 and have told you all about it. If not, here are some of the things we managed to squeeze  in .  We had a fire drill, took the parachute outside, met our buddies, started making woodland creatures and created some repeating patterns on our wellbeing snails. We will try to update the blog as frequently as possible.

On Tuesday we will be going to The Forge for an icecream. Flavours on offer are vanilla, mint choc chip and chocolate. If you would like to help just come along at 9.00 a.m. If for whatever reason you do not want your child to have a cone please let me know and we can offer them something else.

Also on that day we are having a joint Teddy Bear”s  picnic with the nursery. Could every child please bring a teddy bear.
