Fractions

We went to the local shop and bought some things to make sandwiches. We cut them into quarters to help us understand fractions. Half of the class understood it right away, but don’t worry, the other half got it eventually!

  1. What a great way to learn about fractions!! James really enjoyed this and couldn’t wait to tell us all about it. He insisted on making his own sandwiches at home so he could show us how to cut them into quarters. Thank you Mr Pennie for Keeping us up to date with this blog and for making learning so much fun 😊

  2. We love your blog Mr Pennie. It is fantastic to be able to see everything the children are getting up to. Drew thoroughly enjoyed making his butter sandwich (without a lid!) and cutting it into 4 quarters.

  3. He did a really good job too! The reason we didn’t have a lid for our sandwiches was because we underestimated how many slices we would need. We won’t make the same mistake when we are making the pizzas!
