Letter from the Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am Rhoda MacDougall and will be the interim headteacher of Deerpark Primary until June 2019.  I have had a super first week working in the school and have been made to feel very welcome indeed!

I am really keen to get to know our children and families over the coming weeks and so I hope you are able to come to our Sharing the Learning event which will take place on Wednesday 27th March from 6.00pm -7.00pm. This will give you an opportunity to spend some time in your child’s class and see the work they are doing each day at Deerpark.  I look forward to meeting you all next week!

After the spring holiday I will sending out questionnaires to our children and families to find out what you like about Deerpark and also how you think we could improve our work at the school too.   This will help shape our school improvement plan for Deerpark and your views will be very valuable and welcome.

In the meantime please get in touch with me at the school if there is anything you would like to discuss further.

Many thanks

Rhoda MacDougall

Headteacher

Friday Assembly

We welcomed everyone back to school after our Christmas Break and talked about some of the things that would be happening this term including learning Scots poems and songs for our Scottish Assembly on 8th February.

We welcomed Ms Elizabeth as class teacher in Primary 6/7 to the team at Deerpark.

We shared plans for a whindust path for our playing field. A copy of which is shared below. All classes have received a copy of this and we are seeking the children’s views on whether we should have the path built and the different ways that it might be used, for example the Daily Mile.

The path would cost between £5000 and £6000 depending on the width.

We would welcome your thoughts. Please comment below or directly to a member of staff at the school.

Please see below for our first ‘Deerpark Stars’of 2019.
