Parking Outside of School

A gentle reminder to all
parents/carers/family and friends that
cars should not be parked on the pavement
or double yellow lines outside the school
gates as this creates a road safety hazard
for all accessing the school grounds.

Cars are not permitted in the school grounds
between 8:30 and 9:10 and 2:45 and
3:15 to ensure safe access for all
pedestrians and easy access for Lochies
transport, staff vehicles. We would also
like to remind you that in the interests of
health and safety, dogs are not permitted
within the school grounds. This issue is
discussed regularly at Parent Council who
are fully supportive of our guidelines on
this. Thank you in advance for your cooperation
and respect for the safety of
our children.

Home-School Communication

There are many ways to find out what is
happening in school. We regularly update
our Twitter feed and Class dojo with
photos and information about learning and
events happening across the school.
Follow us @DeerparkPrimary
As well as this, our school website is
on GLOW . All classes have their own
blogs, which children have the opportunity
to contribute to. Please take a look!

Our main forms of communication are Class
Dojo and via Groupcall Messenger.

Groupcall Messenger is used by most
secondary schools and some primaries and
allows us to contact the right people at the
right time via text message, email,
voicemail, Xpressions App or letter.

If youhaven’t already signed up to Groupcall
please contact the school with your most
up to date mobile number and/or email
address.

School Improvement Plan

In 2018/19 session our 4 priorities are

 to continue to improve learning and
teaching in order to raise
attainment,
 develop effective approached to
promoting positive health and
wellbeing,
 improve family learning and parental
engagement, and
 further develop approaches to
moderation to ensure that teacher
professional judgement of
Curriculum for Excellence levels are
robust

A sketch note of our school improvement plan will be available very soon on our school website. Paper copies of the full plan will also be available from the school office in the new session.

Our Pupil Equity Fund for 2018/19 is £77760. A
proportion of this is allocated for HR and finance which is centrally resourced within Clackmannanshire Council.

We continue to fund our additional learning assistants. We
will also fund Mrs Stevenson to work an additional 2.5 days a week to allow Mrs Kelly (PT) and Mr Patterson (PT) additional non class contact time to lead school improvement, Growth Mindset work with Sonia Grant, Wellbeing Scotland counselling service and family
learning/parental engagement.

As family learning and parental engagement is one of our priorities we’d like to invite parents/carers to meet with Mrs Bernard
at 9am on 7 June or 2pm on 13 June to listen to your ideas about how you’d like to hear about your child’s learning, family learning opportunities that you’d like to see  in school and how you’d like to be moreinvolved.

If you’d like to attend either session please email the school at
deerpark@edu.clacks.co.uk or call the school on 01259 452218 for catering purposes. Each session will take no longer than one hour. Alternatively, if you are unable to attend but would like to share
your views you can complete a short online survey which will be sent out via Class Dojo school story and Groupcall Messenger over
the next week or so.

Staffing Update

It is with mixed emotions that we share
the news that Mrs Hutchison will be
retiring at the end of June.

Mrs Hutchison has been part of the Deerpark Family for
many years and has developed very positive
relationships with children and families
during her time as well as working hard to
ensure that our children have the very
best experiences whilst at school.

We are sad to lose Mrs Hutchison but delighted
that she will be spending her time with
family and friends enjoying life.

We would like to wish Mrs Hutchison all the very
best in this new and exciting chapter

The organisation of classes follows the
authorities Organisation of Learning Policy
which states that Headteachers should
take the following into account:-

• Gender, to ensure a good mix of
boys and girls

A copy of ‘How learning is organised in

would like a paper copy.

Attainment, achievement and learning

staged intervention process. Please
contact the school if you would like further
information about staged intervention.

Eco Warriors

Trees by hrumThe Eco Warriors spent their time this week planting trees on part of the playing field that they have designated as the new Wildlife Area.
They would really appreciate that anyone playing in/around that area respect the trees and all the hard work they put into planting them. It will be sectioned off, in due course, but meantime we hope that the trees can thrive where they are.
