In September 2016 Coalsnaughton was awarded the GOLD level School Sport Award from sportscotland after working hard all year to evidence the work that the school does for Physical Education, Physical Activity and School Sport.
To be awarded GOLD status the school has to produce a variety of evidence around 8 areas:
- Physical Education
- School Sport
- Pathways
- Compete & Perform
- Celebrating Sport
- Leadership
- CLPL
- Recognition & Award
In addition the School Sport Committee, which is made up of pupils, school staff, PE teacher and Active Schools Coordinator, have to submit a Development Plan outlining how they will continue to develop PEPASS over the next 2 years.
