Happy New Year! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are ready for a busy and exciting 2017.

Here is some information but the coming term, it has been sent home with pupils in paper form as well!

This term we will be looking at how life has changed over the last 60 years by looking ‘Through the Decades’ since the end of the Second World War. We will investigate and learn about key events in the past 60 years, influential people, changes in everyday life and music and culture during these years. We will be able to apply and extend some of our learning as part of the celebrations of 40 years of Mill O Forest Primary School in February. We will also we focusing on Health and Wellbeing by developing our understanding and expression of our emotions, as well as how we work and learn together. As before, there is more information on the learning being covered this term in Curriculum Overview which has been sent home.

Within the Curriculum Overview there are some ideas about ways to support learning at home, this will be supplemented with other tasks over the term. We are having a big push on personal reading this term, combined with our involvement in the First Ministers Reading Challenge, there will be more opportunities for personal reading time in school. Please encourage your child to have a book in school that they enjoy.
