Aaron’s 100 word challenge
Grandparents are important because they’re family. They can help you with your problems. They love you. If it wasn’t for them you wouldn’t be here! Here’s what my grandparents are like: they are very good to me. My granddad died recently but I really liked him. He talked to me about his company- that’s why I like diving, boats and oilrigs. I did gardening with him and it was a lot of fun. He took me out shooting- he was very good. At the summer he died and he was only 66. I loved him a lot. That’s why grandparents are important.
Jack’s 100 word challenge
I remember the time my grandparents and me were at Wrae Lake, a beautiful lake. Me and granda were skimming stones. Grandparents are important because they help you when you stumble or trip. They babysit you when your mum is at work. They take you places and play with you. They make you happy when you are sad, make you a sandwich when you are hungry, they love you and give you hugs when you are upset. They give you nice Christmas presents. My granny pinches my cheeks.
Lewis’ 100 word challenge
On Friday went to my Granny’s for a sleepover. It was lashing rain. I stomped up the stairs, annoyed. I switched the TV to BBC news. It said that there was going to be a flood in Turriff. I got my snooker stick to reach my notebook and it slipped from the shelf. I caught it, opened it and wrote a title: ‘Granny.’ I remembered my Granny and I feeding the ducks. I wrote down grandparents are important because they give you treats and take you to the park and let you go on the Wii and most of all they spend time with you.
Marcella’s 100 word challenge
Grandparents are important because they are helpful, because they teach you how to bake cakes and pie. They might knit you a cosy jumper which most of the time you don’t like but you have to wear. A granny would look well nice, with curly hair, a woolly jumper, nice slippers and an old granny’s bag.
Kalina’s 100 word challenge
Grandparents are important because they love you and they help you. Everybody loves their granny. Most grannies say, ‘Yoohoo, Sweetie. Come here and give your granny a kiss!’ Granddads might say, ‘Come on, give your granddad a huggy wuggy.’
They might bake with you, sing with you, knit you a spotty jumper or stripy gloves that are yukky. They might expect you to show them how to work the internet. They think that you are helpful and that is right! You should help your grandparents because they’re old and you should respect them. She might bring you sweeties and apples.
Christopher’s 100 word challenge
Grandparents are important because they are part of the family. They help look after you. They take you places. They give you your favourite foods. They help you when your mum and dad can’t. You get a sweetie every time you go to their house and stay up late… sometimes until 1am. When they are on holiday they let you watch their tv. But most of all they love you and care about you. Sometimes it is scary to be so far away from your mum and dad but you have to remember that your grandparents are there.

Claire’s 100 word challenge
At midnight my brother was having a party and suddenly the loud music stopped. Everyone screamed, this place is haunted, lets get out of here. When everybody left there was a shadowy figure on the pitch dark stage. Out of the corner of my eye all I could see were two red eyes in the darkness. I was terrified. I ran to my mum. Aahh!! What’s the matter, she said. There’s red eyes over there and the music stopped. This house is haunted! My mum said, no the house isn’t haunted. The red eyes are your rabbit and we’ve just had a power cut!
Erin G’s 100 word challenge
One day Emily came round to my house and she slept over. We were watching TV when the TV went off. All I could see was two red eyes. Me and Emily screamed and my dad came rushing down. What is the matter? We saw two red eyes! Out of the shadows there was a vampire. Help, we said, there is a vampire in my room. When the vampire came out we saw it was Ryan dressed up. Booo! Ryan said. You scared me, Emily said. Then there was a noise. I bet that is a real vampire, I said to Emily. Shwoop…… what was that? Just the wind. I think…….
