We have been learning about the 7 elements of art, starting with line.

We took a dot for a walk, then filled in the spaces and shapes we had made with different kinds of lines. How many different kinds of lines can you draw?

In week 2, we looked at colour. We found out about primary and secondary colours and did some colour mixing using acrylic paints.

We then found out about value, and practised making a variety of shades of different colours.

Next was shape-2D and form- 3D. We drew robots using different 2D shapes.

Then we found out about texture. We discussed different textures- soft, fluffy, hairy, smooth, ridged, wooly, crinkly. We went out into the playground and did some rubbings of textures outside using our sketching pencils.
