sports day

Upper stages had their sports day on Monday the 11th of June 2012 and we did the sack race, football skills, obstacle  courses, skipping, running and lots more courses.

In the afternoon all the classes did a fun races and the races were spoon and tatty, frog leap, 100m sprinting race, catch the train and  a few more.

The team that won was Eagles, and close second was Ospreys,  and third Kestrels and 4th was Falcons.

Sadly the lower stages did not get their sports day on the 12Th of June 2012. Hopefully they will be able to have their sports next week on the 19th.

GOTCHA!

A group of P6 and 7s will be ending their GOTCHA training with an adventure in the Bin forest on Thursday and Friday this week.

First they will use their map reading skills to make their way through the forest to their camping site. They will then camp overnight in the forest. Hopefully they will be able to use their campfire making skills to toast some marshmallows.

We hope the weather stays dry for them.

Whatever the weather, we are sure they will have a great time!

GOTCHA!

A group of P6 and 7 pupils have been very lucky to have been chosen to take part in GOTCHA.

They have been training over the past few weeks, learning outdoor skills such as cooking on a campfire.

Next week they will be camping overnight in the Bin Forest

General Knowledge Quiz.

Four pupils from Gordon Primary took part in a very exciting quiz last week.

Angus and Aiden  (P7), and Lucy and Magnus(P6) competed in the final of a VERY close competition.  The scores were neck and neck and the Gordon Primary team were just beaten by the tie breaker.

The tie breaker question was “How high is Ben Nevis?”

Do you know the answer?

Ballroom Dancing

Primary 6 pupils have been learning ballroom dancing. They recently competed against other local schools in a Ballroom Dancing competition at the Stewarts Hall. On Wednesday they gave a display of their dancing skills to the upper stages at assembly. Dances included the Foxtrot and a Salsa. Everyone enjoyed watching the dances! Well done to everyone involved.
