The New Tour Guides

The new Tour Guides had their Launch last Friday (Friday the 22nd of June 2012) and it went very well!

We had to do it in the Big Hall because the castle was too wet so we so that meant we couldn’t have it at the castle. We each got different parts of the script and there were seats put out in the Hall so that our parents could watch and we all got shortbread and juice at the end!

Every one really liked our costumes and Mrs Sell took photos of each of us in our costumes!

The New Tour Guides Launch

The new Tour Guides Launch (P5s) is on the 22nd of June 2012. We all can’t wait until Friday!

We have given our parents invitations to come and see our tour!

We will give our Parents a tour around the castle.

Mrs Mcgowan’s son will pipe us in. We have invited important people from the community to the launch too. Hopefully the press will be there to take lots of photos!

Huntly Castle Junior Tour Guides

Some pupils from primary 6 are currently delivering tours of Huntly Castle to classes from other schools and to the public.

Dressed in sumptious costumes they explain about the history of the castle and tell their audience how the castle was used in the past. The tour is entertaining and fun.

They are also helping to train a group of P5 pupils who will be taking over from them as tour guides next session.

A group of primary 6 pupils are currently training very hard to become junior tour guides at Huntly Castle.

They will show pupils from other schools around the castle, and help them imagine life in the castle in the past by guiding them around the different rooms and helping them to imagine how they would have been used 800 years ago.

Each tour guide will be dressed in a beautiful costume, replicas of those worn in the time of Mary Queen of Scots.

The new tour guides have taken this important job over from the original tour guides, who are now in P7. The original guides delivered many tours in the first year of the HC Junior Tour Guides, including tours to some classes from Gordon Primary.
