Pancake Day

The p1s have been making pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. They weighed and measured the ingredients scales and different sizes of spoons and they mixed with a electric whisk. They enjoyed eating them after dinner with a glass of milk.

Take a Step for FAIRTRADE!

Fairtrade fortnight begins on the 27th of February. Fairtrade is trying to collect footsteps. Each step supports farmers and workers to take their own steps for a brighter future.
Their target is 1,500,000 footsteps and so far they have collected around 11,000 and they still need to collect 1,489,000 feet!

At Gordon Primary School we want to help get at least 1,000 footsteps and we would like all families to take part. We would like everybody to join in no matter how old or how young you are.
Here is what you do:
1)      Draw around your foot.
2)      Stick a wrapper or label from a Fairtrade product onto the foot you have drawn.
3)      Cut it out.
4)      Write your name clearly on the front and send it to school.
We are going to make a trail of them around the school. Then we will count and let Fairtrade know how many footsteps we have collected. We hope you join in.

Internet safety

P5 have been learning about Internet safety. Here’s some rules

  • DON’T  give anyone your personal details
  • DON’T meet up with someone you don’t know
  • TELL your parents right away if I come across any information that makes me feel uncomfortable
  • NEVER send a person your picture or anything else without first checking with your parents
  •  BE a good online citizen and not do anything that hurts other people or is against the law
  • NEVER give out your passwords to anyone (NOT even your best friends) other than your parents.

Huntly Castle Junior Tour Guides

A gallery of photos from the launch of Huntly Castle Junior Tour Guides, June 2010

A group of primary 6 pupils are currently training very hard to become junior tour guides at Huntly Castle.

They will show pupils from other schools around the castle, and help them imagine life in the castle in the past by guiding them around the different rooms and helping them to imagine how they would have been used 800 years ago.

Each tour guide will be dressed in a beautiful costume, replicas of those worn in the time of Mary Queen of Scots.

The new tour guides have taken this important job over from the original tour guides, who are now in P7. The original guides delivered many tours in the first year of the HC Junior Tour Guides, including tours to some classes from Gordon Primary.
