S3 Practical Woodworking

Course Content:

The Practical Woodworking course introduces learners to the skills being sought after by the construction industry.

The course aims to provide the learner the opportunity to

  • Gain a range of practical woodworking skills and to use a variety of tools, equipment, materials and processes including finishing techniques in a safe manner
  • Allow pupils to gain skills using hand tools to make traditional joints
  • Allow the use of power tools as part of the course including a woodturning lathe, mortising machine and scroll saw
