NPA Photography Level 4/5

Recommended Entry Requirements:

• An interest in learning about photography, a willingness to explore ideas and to develop your creativity will ensure a successful experience for you. Having a camera would be helpful but not necessary, a camera-phone would be perfect.

Course Content:

• NPA 4 and 5
• The NPAs at both levels provide opportunities to develop both creative and technical skills in photography. There is a mix of theory and practical where you will learn about depth of field for example then put that knowledge into practice by taking planned photo-shoots of people with blurred backgrounds. Other learning will include composition and lighting techniques then involve you going to interior spaces as well as outside to take photos of various locations.

Assessment:

Internally assessed Units as follows:

• Understanding Photography: 40 hours
• Photographing People: 40 hours
• Photographing Places: 40 hours
• Working with Photographs: 40 hours

Progression Pathway:

• Higher Photography with NPA pass.
