Wednesday 7th September was National Fitness Day. A day where gyms offered free entry and taster classes and a chance for people to be more active. Being fit however, does not mean you have to hit the gym and bench weights for hours every day, really if you set time aside 5-10 minutes a day to do some stretches or basic exercises it will improve your health and well-being.
There are numerous studies which show that exercise not only makes you fitter and helps you lose weight it is also incredibly good for your self-esteem.
You may be asking what exercise should I do? Everyone is different, but some just walk into town rather than take transport, or cycle, or play sports with friends – it doesn’t have to be competitive. Really when you put your mind to it and make the effort to establish it as a habit, you’ll be reaping the benefits in no time!
