Monday

We were singing with Miss Hamilton and we were singing, engine, engine number nine and it was very fun because we sang in two groups.

In maths, we were rounding to tens, hundreds and thousands.

We do guided reading this year.  We did pre reading, some people did teacher lead reading and discussion then other people did comprehension and it was nice and easy.

For VCOP, we wrote sentences and changed the boring verbs into powerful verbs and it was unusually fun!

In IDL, this was our chance to have our say.  We got round about five pieces of paper had certain Experiences and Outcomes from Curriculum for Excellence on them. We had to think of things we wanted to learn about that were linked with the statements. It was quite hard to think of stuff.

 Tuesday

Problem solving

We got give a certain amount of numbers to make the biggest possible number. It was challenging but fun.

On a Tuesday, we have P.E with Miss Macrae. We did basketball and it was very fun.

In writing, we were practicing to write a story in first person narrative. It was called Catch it.  It was about a vulture who stole a precious fruit from a mob of meerkats.

Wednesday

In Health with Mrs Cox we played a game called Pass the Smile so everyone passed their smile and then everyone in the circle was smiling. It made everyone feel happy as everyone was smiling and it was a really fun game.

 Thursday

In PE with Miss Scott, we played a quick thinking, fast moving game with hoops and it was so fun!

Topic reveal time! We were put into groups and we had a puzzle per group. We had to piece the puzzle together and altogether we had to figure out the link between each picture to decide what the topic was.  It was A Universe of trading!  Later on we had to use our geography skills using an atlas to locate Colombia in South America on a world map.

In circle time, we talked about what makes a friend so we had to tell the class what qualities make a friend for us. Some of the examples  were being kind, being helpful and being honest.

Friday

It was Wear Purple for Clan day so we had to make a poster that showed what we would have in our own Clan House to support people with cancer and their families who feel sad. Most people in our class were wearing purple and we all brought in £1.  In assembly, someone from Clan came into talk to us.

Golden time – some people who chose to make slime had a bit of a disaster as it didn’t work!!! Miss Scott said we’ll try, try again!!
