P6 Mile a Day!

Primary 6 are working hard to improve fitness and stamina levels this term.

To help us achieve this goal we have started to complete the ‘Mile a Day’ challenge.  We try to go outside and walk or run for approximately a mile – several times a week.  We really enjoy getting outside and running together to keep fit!

P6 Football

This term, we have been lucky enough to have a football coach come into school to help our class learn the key skills of playing football.

So far we have learned how to dribble accurately and also how to play fairly without cheating.

SSPCA Visitor

This morning, Primary 6 had a visitor from the SSPCA.  Her name was Jackie and she came to tell us all about how to look after our pets correctly and to remind us what we should do if we have concerns about an animal.

We learned lots of new interesting animal facts and had lots of fun while doing so!  Thank you for visiting Jackie!

Ammonite Up-date!

Today, Miss Forno’s dad (Mr Forno), came in to show the class more fascinating items!  These included: a huge variety of ammonites, a REAL dinosaur egg and even a megalodon tooth!

He told us lots of information about them and answered all our questions we asked!

Thank you for visiting to share these amazing articles Mr Forno!

Hour of Code!

P3-7 have been completing an ‘Hour of Code’ in each class as part of Computing Science Week.

Primary 6 have learned what an algorithm is, what decomposition is and how to debug a programme!

Fernielea Gospel Hall

This week, Primary 6 got invited to the Fernielea Gospel Hall to get involved in a workshop about the Bible.

We learned about what messages are in the Bible, the history of the Bible and why the Bible is important to Christians.

At the end, we played a game to see what we had learned – it was great fun!

Rosewell House Visit

On Monday, Primary 6 went to Rosewell House to share some of our favourite songs with the residents.  The residents played some of their favourite songs to us and we all got involved by dancing and playing instruments along with the music.  We had a really enjoyable visit, with lots of laughter and smiles!

Busy Primary 6!

Since we have come back from the October holidays we have been very busy learning lots of interesting things!

Some of our favourite activities include learning how to take a full swing with a golf club (making sure we are standing and holding the club correctly) and creating our own Theme Park in groups for our enterprise project this term.  Here are some pictures!
