Primary 6 Trip and Sushi Tasting!

Last week, Primary 6 went out to Duthie park to attend a Japanese workshop at the Winter Gardens.  While we were there, we learned lots of exciting facts abut Japan and the famous plants which grow there.  We also got creative by making origami frogs and writing descriptive Haiku poems!

Earlier in the week, we also tried some Japanese food called sushi.  There were many different types to try – some were more popular than others!

P6 Playground Leaders!

This term, Primary 6 are training to be Playground Leaders!  Peter, our Active Schools Co-ordinator has been coming to train us once a week.  He has been teaching us the qualities of a good leader and communicator and also how to deliver exciting games and activities!

Fossil Fun!

Today in Science, we learned all about ammonites!

Ammonites were free-swimming molluscs of the ancient oceans, living around the same time that the dinosaurs walked the Earth and disappearing during the same time also.

In some places you can still find ammonite fossils if you know where to look!  We were lucky enough to get to see and handle real ammonite fossils today and we have really enjoyed learning about them too!

TechFest!

This week, we had an exciting day out at TechFest!

We learned lots of interesting new information and skills across the whole day.  We got involved in investigating wizard experiments, we took a closer look at how our bodies worked AND we worked as a team to build our own suspension bridge!

Thank you to everyone involved at TechFest – we had a brilliant day!

Take a look at some of our pictures!
