Hello everyone?

What have you been learning this week? Have you shared it with us on your ILD or school twitter page @abbotswell. We do love seeing all the fabulous things you have been doing while you are not at nursery.

Today is International Puzzle Day.

Do you have any puzzles at home?

Here is the puzzle I got for my Christmas it had 1000 pieces!

What is the biggest size of puzzle you can do by yourself?

Please ask your grown ups to upload a picture of you doing your puzzle on to ILD or on the school twitter @abbotswell.

Thursday 28th January

Today is International Lego Day

Do you have any Lego or Duplo at home? If you don’t do not worry as you can still take part.

Challenge 1.

Can you make a tower that is as big as you?

How many bricks did you need?

What other items can you use to make something as big as you?  (perhaps you could use old boxes or other things that can stack)

Challenge 2.

Can you choose two different colours of bricks (or sizes) and make a simple pattern with them?

How many different patterns can you make?

Can you use other items to make a pattern?                                            (maybe you could use items you have found while out walking)

Challenge 3.

Can you use your imagination to create something fabulous?

As always we would love to see what you have done so please share them on your ILD or the school twitter page @abbotswell.

Wonderful Wednesday

As it has been much colder this week, I thought I would share some of my favourite videos of yoga, dancing and exercise. Something to keep us warm. You can do these with your siblings or as a family.

This is my favourite yoga video, which is centred around the story, “We’re going on a bear hunt.”

Usually we dance on a Friday, but it is also great to warm your body up too.

Exercise is another awesome way to warm your body up on a cold winters day. Her is a quick five minute video which you can do on your own or with family members.

Aa always, stay safe.

The Wild Challenge

Yesterday I posted information about the Big Garden Birdwatch. Today I want to share another challenge that you and your family can take part in.

Wild Challenge is free and fun! Get up close and personal with nature with our enjoyable activities.

You can find out all about it and how to take part by clicking

Wild Challenge!

We would love for you to share your activities and progress through your ILD and school twitter @abbotswell.

Do you know any other ways of saying hello?

We would love for you to share it with us either here on the blog, your ILD or on the school twitter @abbotswell.

Monday 25th January

Hello everyone,

Today we would have had a Burns Supper in nursery to celebrate Robert Burn’s Birthday!

Robert Burns lived along time ago and is famous for his Scottish Poems and Songs. Here is a clip of someone sharing their Burns Day.

Perhaps your family is planning to have haggis, neaps and tatties for your tea today. If you have a Burns Supper at home we would love for you to share a photo on your ILD or school twitter @abbotswell.

I have a funny Scottish Song for you today, see if you can sing-a-long.

Did you know that during the winter that birds can find it difficult to find food. To help them you can always help them by providing food for them. Here are some ways you can feed the birds.

Please remember to share any photos or videos of you doing this to your ILD or school twitter page @abbotswell.
