These activities can be done throughout the coming week. Spend about 5 minutes on each section (C, L, I, C) daily.

CLIC stands for –

C – counting

L – learn its (number facts which are learned for quick recall)

I – it’s nothing new (counting fact or learn it which can be applied to any object or amount)

C – calculations (add, subtract, multiply or divide)

P1 CLIC

C – comparing (which one id bigger?) or ordering numbers within 10

L – 1+1   2+2   3+3   4+4   5+5

I – doubling ( double 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

C – subtraction ( take away within 10 and count how many are left)

P2 CLIC

C – counting multiples of 5

L – 4+2   5+2   6+2   7+2   9+2

I – jigsaw numbers to 10 ( what must be added to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 to make 10)

C – subtraction ( take away within 20 using a number line)

This week our sounds are

er – her, sister, under, winter, slipper, river, supper, number, butter,                silver

ar – arm, jar, farm, yard, star, scarf, sharp, dark, march, smart, shark

The usual homework activities can be done with the sounds. Practise writing the sounds or the words containing them.

Words of the week (common words) for this week are – live and give.

Try activities similar to the one we do each week for homework – how many of each word can you find. Practise writing the words.

Spelling activities can be done using the words.

This week try

*Pyramid Words- Write your spelling words in a pyramid shape. Start with the first letter. On the next line, write the first two letters. On the third line, write the first three letters. Continue until you have written the entire word. Example: them

*Spelling Flowers- Draw a picture of a great big flower. Write each of your spelling words on one of the flower petals or on a leaf. Draw extra flowers if you run out of room.

 

*Squiggly Spelling Words- You are going to write your spelling words two times. First write in regular letters. Then write the words again in squiggly letters!

 

*UPPER and lower- Write your spelling words two times each. The first time, write each word in UPPERCASE letters. Write your words a second time in lowercase letters.
