Please look in their home/school book for activities to support their learning. Play with them and encourage them to build their knowledge and understanding around theses sounds and blends.

Big Maths

big-maths

We will work on the following CLIC Targets this week

C – Count to 50, Count back from 50

I  understand numbers to 10

L – 3 + 3 = 6, 4 + 4 = 8, 5 + 5 = 10

I can make 10

I – I can double 1 digit numbers

C – I can add numbers of objects to 10

Try to make any maths work at home as fun as possible – games, puzzles and jigsaws are a great way to start. It is also important to show how we use maths skills in our everyday lives so try to involve your child in this.

Number formation needs to be reinforced – using a whiteboard is a great way to do this.

SSPCA

Today we met Jacki from the SSPCA. She told us all about what she did and about some of the animals she had saved. Jacki told us a story about Poppy the pigeon who was covered in oil. Poppy had to have 3 bubble baths to get all the sticky oil out of her feathers. Poppy then had to have a few days rest at a SSPCA centre before being released. Jacki rescued about 190 animals over the summer holidays, lots of them were babies. We were all lucky enough to get a Harry the hedgehog sharpener with the SSPCA phone number.
