World Cup Fever

Due to Scotland opting out of qualifying again, we drew lots to see which country we would support at the World Cup. All the children have been rushing home this week to see if their team have put in a good performance. We made a flag for our chosen country and designed a new kit for each team using their colours. I’m hoping Iceland’s new Spiderman design will catch on in time for the next championship.

The children have also been challenged to find out a fact about their country at home. So far we have discovered that Brazil is the biggest country in South America and that Australia is home to kangaroos and koala bears. I wonder who can think of the most interesting fact…


P1 will be working on forming the letter “z” correctly and will learn the “ue” sound. Their spellings will contain the “a” vowel sound. P2 are working on the “ou” sound.
