Food for Thought: Education Fund

Education Scotland are pleased to announce the launch of the Food for Thought: Education Fund. The fund was officially launched by The Minister for Learning, Science and Scotland’s Languages Dr Alasdair Allan and Rural Affairs Secretary Richard Lochhead at Castleview Primary, Edinburgh. The opportunity to apply for a grant from the Food for Thought: Education Fund will give practitioners scope to explore food education within Curriculum for Excellence. Each project will be individual as will the nature of support from the business link.

Education Scotland recently issued two food education surveys to serve early/primary and secondary sectors. They are intended to highlight two forthcoming exciting food education opportunities for schools whilst gathering intelligence about where schools currently are on their journey with food education, details below. There has been a very encouraging response to these surveys so far.
The results will allow Education Scotland and its Food Education partners to establish areas for support; sharing emerging practice and mapping practice across Scotland.
Education Scotland would appreciate your support in completing these surveys: the links are given below.
