Maths Week Scotland

This week P1 explored  the concept of MATHS and ME. They carried out a survey of the colour of cars in the staff car park and learned how to record the data using tally marks. Then they created their own surveys to ask their friends. The classroom was a buzz of excitement about learning .

We also learned about symmetry and created our own butterflies with symmetrical patterns.

We looked at print all around us and created our own number plate for a car. We learned that we had to combine letters and numbers together and that  18 means it’s a new car.

Someone very clevely started to draw pictures to represent the answers to his questions, he said that it helped him to gather his answers. This will lead on nicely to pictographs next week. Fantastic learning P1!
