The importance of trees!

Primary 1 listened to the story of The Man Who Planted Trees from the Woodland Trust. We discussed why trees are important and what items are made from wood. We then created our own trees in art – some of our parents worked with us too!

The school is working towards our Silver award from the Woodland Trust. In the spring, the eco committee are going to plat some saplings in our wood. We can’t wait to see these take root and begin to grow!

P1 Welcome Tea

Primary 1 were super busy last week in the kitchen with their wonderful P7 helpers making yummy treats for their tea party. There was chocolate galore and lots of laugher 🙂

In the morning we worked really hard using different coloured tissue paper to collage our cupcake or teapot cards to give to our guests.

We were delighted to have so many of our family members and some of the ladies from the Nursery come and join us for our special afternoon tea party. We shared our welcome song and the Ziggy Road safety song with everyone. They were all really impressed with our baking and our singing.

We want to say a massive thank you to everyone for coming to share our special afternoon with us.

We are looking forward to our shared finish on Monday 2:30-3:00 so we can share some of the activities we do with you.
