Higher

The Higher Music Course involves performing music, creating original music using compositional methods and music concepts, and developing knowledge and understanding of music and musical literacy.  Ideally you are building on a successful completion of National 5 Music before starting this course.

There are three areas of assessment at the end of the course:

Performance on two instruments

Composition

Understanding question paper

All skills and learning lead towards the Advanced Higher Music course.

Possible careers after studying music include:

  • music therapist
  • musician
  • primary / secondary / private music (or instrumental) teacher
  • arts administrator
  • event manager
  • radio producer
  • artist agent
