GOING FOR GOLD!

Congratulations to Mrs Adirangga, the Sports Council and the wider school community for all of their hard work which has resulted in us achieving our Gold School Sport Award, a national recognition for our continuous improvement in physical education and school sport opportunities. A fantastic team effort from everyone!

 

Criteria for ‘Gold Award’:

1. Physical education

All pupils should have access to 2 hours/2 periods of physical education.

2. School sport

All pupils should have access to a range of quality extra curricular sports and activities to take part in before, during and after school.

3. Pathways

There should be clear pathways to a range of community sport opportunities to encourage life long participation for all pupils.

4. Compete and perform

Opportunities to compete and perform in events, festivals and competitions

5. Celebrating sport

At all levels including; participation, performance, spectating, leading, coaching and officiating.

6. Leadership

Opportunities for pupils to lead, coach, officiate and influence sport in their schools.

7. Career Long Professional Learning (CLPL)

A choice of quality physical education and sport related Career Long Professional Development (CLPL) opportunities on offer for all staff and volunteer deliverers.

8. Recognition and awards

Recognition and awards for the staff and volunteers who give up their time to support, organise or deliver extra curricular sport and physical activity opportunities in the school.

Green Tree Schools Award

We are very pleased to announce that we have received our Bronze Woodland Trust’s Green Tree Schools Award!
As a school community we have achieved this by:
*recycling stamps
*weekly outdoor learning experiences in our Forget Me Not Woods
*our Walk To School Day once a month campaign
*ordering trees to plant in our school grounds through Woodland Trust
*Continuing to recycle paper, careful energy consumption and waste monitoring at lunch times.

Reading Force

Whether your family is at home together or apart because of deployment, training, or distance, reading the same book, talking about it and sharing your thoughts, and making a scrapbook is fun for everyone and will be a shared experience you will always remember.

Reading Force is free for all Forces families, Reserves, Cadets, and Ex-Forces families. It is fun and easy to take part. Friends can participate too.

Harvest Festival 2018

The school will host its annual Senior Citizens Harvest Festival celebration next week on Wednesday 3rd October from 10am until 11am! Complimentary tea, coffee and shortbread will be available as well as entertainment from across the school stages! Primary 6 are working hard to produce soup packages for our guests too!
