Cardross are the Christian Aid Champions!
A huge well done to our school netball and football teams who recently came out as champions of the annual Christian Aid Netball and Football Tournaments! The teams played with skill, brilliant communication and encouraged each other throughout. They even had lots of their peers coming along to cheer them on! Well done everyone, we are so proud of you!

ROBERT BURNS’ WEEK 2022
Well done to all of the boys and girls who put themselves forward for the annual Burns’ poem and song competition. The judges were wowed by the efforts of all of the participants. Many thanks to everyone at home who provided support and encouragement to learn these pieces. The Burns’ art competition gave the opportunity for everyone to create a piece of Scottish artwork. Some of the winning entries are displayed below. Well done everyone!
RIGHTS RESPECTING SCHOOL SILVER AWARD
Cardross Primary are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the Silver – Rights Aware Award from UNICEF. Our Rights Respecting School Steering Group have been working very hard to get the school community ready and we are thrilled to have taken the next step on our journey to the Gold Award. The children were very passionate and confident and impressed Jenny and Christine from UNICEF in their online award meet. Well done everyone!

GOING FOR GOLD!
Congratulations to Mrs Adirangga, the Sports Council and the wider school community for all of their hard work which has resulted in us achieving our Gold School Sport Award, a national recognition for our continuous improvement in physical education and school sport opportunities. A fantastic team effort from everyone!
Criteria for ‘Gold Award’:
1. Physical education
All pupils should have access to 2 hours/2 periods of physical education.
2. School sport
All pupils should have access to a range of quality extra curricular sports and activities to take part in before, during and after school.
3. Pathways
There should be clear pathways to a range of community sport opportunities to encourage life long participation for all pupils.
4. Compete and perform
Opportunities to compete and perform in events, festivals and competitions
5. Celebrating sport
At all levels including; participation, performance, spectating, leading, coaching and officiating.
6. Leadership
Opportunities for pupils to lead, coach, officiate and influence sport in their schools.
7. Career Long Professional Learning (CLPL)
A choice of quality physical education and sport related Career Long Professional Development (CLPL) opportunities on offer for all staff and volunteer deliverers.
8. Recognition and awards
Recognition and awards for the staff and volunteers who give up their time to support, organise or deliver extra curricular sport and physical activity opportunities in the school.
