The Edinburgh Children’s Book Festival

This week we were very lucky to have the chance to go to the book festival with our all of our friends in school. We started the day off attending the Eco – adventurer workshop with Hannah Gold! Hannah Gold is the best selling author of the last bear. Hannah told us all about her life as an author and how she gets inspiration for her stories! We all received a free book, Turtle Moon, from Hannah and even had the chance to meet her and have our books all signed. We had a fabulous day.

Goodbye to our Primary 7 pupils.

A fantastic morning of laughter with lots of water fun and a movie. A lovely way to end our year and wish the p7’s all the very best for high school in August.

We will miss you all in Woodmuir primary and wish you all the best in your next adventure.

Thank you to Lachlan for superb tunes and piping out the children.

Highlights from our Leavers assembly

Well done to the upper class on a fabulous leavers show, Reach for the stars! The singing was super and everyone spoke very clearly and in role. A great way to finish off the term and demonstrate our talent in the arts, we wish our p7 pupils all the best in secondary school! We will miss you all at Woodmuir primary.

Hockey taster session

Today we all had the chance to try out some hockey skills from Livingston Hockey Club. We practised lots of skills such as passing and tackling before a mini game. We had lots of fun and are looking forward to football this afternoon.

Royal Highland Show

We had a fun whole school visit to the RHS yesterday. It was a fantastic day out in the sunshine, getting to see the cattle, sheep, horses and much more. We also had the chance to try lots of different food and participate in fun activities from the exhibitors. At the end we had ice- cream and a play time in the park! Thanks to Ms Petrie for joining us on the trip and volunteering her time to help supervise the children, we all loved having you with us.

Lockerbie Camp Day 3

Our final day was filled with a handful of activities including Manor Olympics, Bivi and Initiative. In Manor Olympics, the children played a variety of different games including relay races where they had mini challenges to complete, wellie throws and even some teamwork games.

In our final sessions, Bivi and Initiative, the children used their problem solving skills to build dens and complete tricky challenges. We had such a fantastic experience and we are all excited to head home to tell everyone all the exciting things we got up to!

Lockerbie Camp Day 2

The children enjoyed a fun-filled, action packed day yesterday where they had a chance to participate in Bivi (den-building), obstacle course, initiative (problem solving tasks), axe throwing, archery, abseiling and finishing up with a camp-fire where we sang songs and toasted marshmallows. The children enjoyed all the activities and were all extremely tired by the end, so no late nights last night! One morning to go before we head back after lunch.
