Golden Showcase

Last week we finally revealed our new school vision, to our parents and community at Woodmuir PS. All children had the opportunity to say a little piece about what our new school vision means to us and we celebrated the winning design. The children sang beautifully and the last song added a magical touch to the end of our assembly and really captured the sense of togetherness in our school community.

It was lovely to see proud smiles on the faces of all our parents as they watched the enthusiasm in all children as they sang and danced happily! It was a heartwarming afternoon and events like these create cherished memories for the children. A big thank you to all the parents who came along to this event and provided feedback on the children’s work in their Golden Vision Books. We look forward to more of these open events in the new year where we can showcase our learning and celebrate success.

Our Golden Profiles

After our assembly rehearsal this morning, we worked on our individual profiles ready for our showcase this afternoon. We are taking a great deal of care with these project books to get them ready for our grown ups and we are very excited to hear about the competition!

National mining museum

Today we all had wonderful trip to the Lady Victoria Colliery. We walked through two floors of exhibitions, interactive, tours and had the opportunity to retrace the footsteps of thousands of miners and their families. During our workshop we got to dress up as a miner or a Victorian followed by our guided tour from Jim. The tour took us through the pithead , recreated underground roadway and coalface giving us the atmosphere and noise of a working pit. This is an experience we won’t forget!

Lots of photos will be posted shortly from our day trip!

Winter Fayre 2025

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who was able to attend our Fayre last Friday. It was so wonderful to see so many people from the Woodmuir community coming together for this special event. The school was full of Christmas cheer and the children had lots of fun.

Profiling our learning

Today we started to design our individual floor books, recording our project based learning from the past few weeks. This involved lots of planning, literacy, Creativity, communication and critical thinking skills. We enjoyed reflecting on our journeys, recording the process and presenting our favourite parts.

Celebrating Success

STARS is an end of season finale for riding and pony club competitors.

On Tuesday we had one very happy girl sharing her experiences at STARS which is a horse show. We are all very proud of her in Woodmuir PS and want to congratulate her on all achievements.
